Rosie grew up in the Cotswolds where her family puppy-walked and bred puppies for the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association. She always knew that she wanted to be a vet.
Rosie qualified from the Royal Veterinary College London in 1989 with her two friends Janine and Ali. Her first job was in the Cotswolds where she soon adopted an unwanted dog. She enjoys all forms of needlework (including surgery) and having made a wedding dress for a nurse in her practice, attended the wedding, where she met her future husband.
After studying for and achieving her Certificate of Veterinary Dermatology, Rosie made her own wedding dress and bridesmaid collar for her dog. She moved to Christchurch where her husband lived and was soon part of the family at Forest Lodge. Her veterinary interests include dermatology and surgery.
Rosie and her husband have two young daughters, both of whom want to be vets and practice their veterinary skills on the long-suffering family pets. Rosie cycles everywhere and loves swimming, especially in the sea.
